Backup Plan
Well I guess it's time to face reality. Brett Favre is retiring. I guess I told myself that as long as he didn't announce it at a Press conference (he's holding one today at 12 noon eastern) then maybe he'll change his mind. This of course, is the equivalent of my sticking my fingers in my ears and shouting LA-LA-LA-LA-LA real loud when I didn't want to hear the bad news someone is telling me.
So with that in mind... it's time to formulate a Packer Backup Plan.
Let's face it... Aaron has significantly played in just 3 games in his career... and he's had substantial injuries in 2 of them. LA-LA-LA-LA-LA! See... still not working. Obviously, the Packers need to find a good quality QB to back up Aaron if he falls somewhat short of talent... or longevity.
Here's a list of some of the candidates. (It's kind like America's Next Top Model only not as sexy and with no makeovers!)
IMHO (In my Humble Opinion) the best candidates are...
David Carr (ekkk)
Gus Ferotte (ewwww)
Dante Culpepper (I heart fumbling Quarterbacks)
Trent Green (He's like Favre's age... but a possibility)
Joey Harrington (Manageable and wont cause locker room friction)
Byron Leftwich (Back to ekkk and ewwww)
Craig Nall (Duh... sign him but we still need another)
Ouch! The list is short and not very satisfying.
We could wait around to see what 20 or so Quarterbacks the Tampa Bay Bucs cut... or try to work out a trade for an established QB like... Kurt Warner? Not very likely to happen.
Or we could just direct snap to Ryan Grant!
LA-LA-LA-LA-LA!
