Crumpler talking to Pack
Read this today... hmmmmmmmm?
Crumpler will begin talking to prospective teams on Friday at the Scouting Combine, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Crumpler told the paper he has seven teams he may meet with: Green Bay, Buffalo, Detroit, Seattle, Carolina, Tampa Bay and Tennessee. "My agent was getting so many phone calls that I thought it would easier just to go there and meet with everybody, I’m not looking for the red carpet treatment. I’m just looking for a team I can win on. I’m not bitter. It’s not like I have to be in the NFC South so I can play the Falcons twice. I’m more concerned about the team that I’m going to play for.”

And for some Bubba news...
Franks drawing interest around NFL
As the Packers consider what direction they're headed with the tight end position, recently released Bubba Franks has already began his search for a new home. According to his agent, Eugene Mato, Franks has his eye on a job somewhere else and already has drawn interest from several teams. "Bubba had a great eight years with the Packers and now its time to move on to the next chapter in his football career," Mato said Thursday night. "The demand for his services from other teams speaks volumes about his playing abilities and his character. We have several trips already planned for next week and look forward to getting something done soon." Mato did not make Franks available for comment, but he did release a statement from the veteran tight end.
"I would like to thank the Green Bay Packers organization for allowing me the opportunity to fulfill a childhood dream to play in the NFL for such a storied franchise," Franks said. "It was a wonderful eight years and I will miss it very much. I want to thank the fans for their unconditional support throughout the years. My only regret is that we were not able to win a championship during my tenure with the team." The Packers cut ties with Franks Wednesday and are in the process of scouting possible replacements at the scouting combine in Indianapolis. Franks is free to sign with any team he wants and will be negotiating a deal from scratch. [Story]
