Favre's comments
indicate he'll return
If Brett Favre is leaning toward returning for another season with the Green Bay Packers, he hasn't discussed it yet with his coach. Packers coach Mike McCarthy hardly seemed convinced that comments from Favre to his hometown newspaper on Thursday, indicating he was leaning toward playing another season, amounted to an official decision on his future. "I'm trying not to laugh, but I have not been part of any conversation with Brett on that topic," Packers coach Mike McCarthy said. "And I think we need to just move on and focus on Seattle, because that's what we are focused on. I'm sure that's what he's focused on." [More]

Packers' injury report nice and short
heading into playoffs
The Green Bay Packers filed their shortest injury report of the season on Wednesday, an indication that the team is in good health going into Saturday's playoff game against Seattle. Cornerback Charles Woodson was the only player who sat out practice entirely on Wednesday. Along with the toe injury Woodson has been nursing in recent weeks, Packers coach Mike McCarthy said Woodson had some swelling after banging his knee on the turf in practice on Tuesday. "He'll be fine," McCarthy said. "We know Charles will be ready to go." Packers receivers Greg Jennings and James Jones left practice with minor injuries -- a groin for Jennings, a hamstring for Jones -- but McCarthy said neither was a concern. "They both wanted to finish practice," McCarthy said. "(We're) just being cautious. This is the healthiest we've been all year medically and I just want to make sure we're ready to go. They experienced some tightness three-quarters of the way through practice, so I sent them up for treatment." [More]
