Hell Freezes Over(time)
Screw it!
I knew we weren't a cold weather team.
I mean... did you see the Bears game a couple weeks ago?
Okay... I'm a bit bummed.
Can you blame me... can you blame us?
We had the better team. We had home-field advantage. We had the grizzly seasoned vet and sure fire hall of famer quarterback with the history of winning games in the cold. And we even won the toss in OhTee.
Still with all those advantages... our 2007-slash-08 season came to a crash last night on the frozen tundra that proved to be more foe than friend.
Yeah... I'm a bit bummed.
But not really...
Going into this year I told everybody that would listen that it was going to be a loooong season for our beloved green and gold. We had no running game. (Brandon Jackson? Bitch please!) An 'O' line in flux. (How many times can Colledge lose his job in one season?) A rookie starting at fullback. An unproven tight end and strong safety. No depth at corner back and we looked like crap in the pre-season.
But then... we won our first game.
We won it ugly... but we won it all the same. Then we won the second (over the Giants) and then we even beat the best team in 2006 (14-2 SD Chargers) in the next game. Heck we kept right on winning right up to the Bears game and even had them beat till Favre went all... well Favre on them late in the 4th.
And even when we did lose (da Bears slash 'Boys slash da Bears da sequel) we still came back strong the next week... and the week after. We had more staying power than an 18 year-old on Viagra!
Yes. It was a very good year. One to be proud of.
Still... I am bummed.
I mean... it's like my senior year of high school and the best my sorry ass... 5 foot 8 inch... pimple faced bod could have hoped for was to date Doris the nerdy science girl. But no... I took a shot and asked out both the gorgeous head cheerleader Brianna and the nearly as haaawt drama class chic Desiree. The cheerleader turned me down... but... Desiree and I both had a lot of fun kickin' it back stage.
I kinda feel like Dante from the Movie 'Clerks'...
"We weren't even supposed to be here today!"
Yeah... 2007-slash-08 will bring a lot of good memories...
and some bad.
That's why I'm bummed.
And happy.
And... proud.
Thank you Packers!

Bummed, happy, proud. Yup, that says it. What a painful loss but what a great season. Well-said.
