Packers kick-off 88th Season

So a new year arises and I'm another year older... the Packer's 87th... and my 50th! This year also marks the 25th anniversary of the strike shortened 1982 season. How many of you still remember James Lofton's 83 yard end around against the Giants on Monday night when they litterally turned the lights off for the next seven weeks? What stands out to me about that season was the fact that the Packers made the playoffs for the first time since I was allowed to cross the street on my own. For 10 bonus points... how many of you can remember who the Packers played and what the final score was?

Hopefully the Packers will find their way back to the promised land of post season play. Yesterday I focused more on the negatives -- Here (My Take on Thompson) but today is a new day and I'm filled with feelings of positivity and platatudes!
Unfortuantely... the Packer Press doesn't share my optimism about todays game versus the Eagels.

You have to go back to his second season in 2000 and his ninth NFL start to find the last, and only, time Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb lost to the Green Bay Packers.As well as Here (McNabb has had Packers' Number) --
As poorly as Brett Favre has played against the Philadelphia Eagles, Donovan McNabb has been at the opposite end of the spectrum against the Green Bay Packers. (cut) And based on what McNabb has done against Green Bay of late, that doesn't bode well for the home squad.
Regardless... I still feel positive. I feel if we can get at least 80 yards out of our running game and Favre and the offense play a near perfect game... then... if our defense holds the fort versus McNabb... we have a better than even chance of winning.
Oh... and if we have a good day on special teams too.
And if I wear my Lucky Favre jersey.
