Favre sounds like he will be back
He wasn't definitive, but Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre left the distinct impression Tuesday he'll be back for an 18th NFL season in 2008. Favre, who enters Thursday's game at Detroit having completed 260 of 384 passes (67.7 percent) for 2,975 yards, 19 touchdowns and eight interceptions for a passer rating of 98.6, said the team's 9-1 start and his personal performance have given him reason to think he can play beyond this season. Speaking in a conference call with reporters who cover the Lions, Favre intimated that while contemplating retirement in past years, he wasn't entirely convinced he could still play at a high level. In one three-game stretch this year, Kitna was sacked 22 times, including 10 by the Philadelphia Eagles. [More]
