NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports suspended WR Koren Robinson has applied to be reinstated by the league. All indications are that Green Bay is open to having Robinson rejoin the roster when he's eligible. The first date Robinson can return is September 18, which could have him on the team in time for Week 3 versus San Diego.

Robinson is serving a one-year suspension for multiple violations of the league's alcohol policy. Robinson on Aug. 2 finished serving a 15-day jail sentence in Minnesota for several driving violations from an incident while he was in training camp last year with the Minnesota Vikings. He's in Arizona working with a personal trainer in two-a-day workouts and hoping Goodell reinstates him Sept. 18 or shortly thereafter. The NFL originally suspended Robinson on Sept. 18 last year, though he appealed the decision and didn't begin serving the suspension until Oct. 17. If Goodell reinstates Robinson this fall, the Packers appear open to his return, though whether he'll stick with the team depends on how their other receivers are playing and what kind of shape Robinson is in after missing football for a year.
