Packers Acquire Brewster
From Browns
The Green Bay Packers Tuesday obtained wide receiver Carlton Brewster from the Cleveland Browns for cornerback Therrian Fontenot. Ted Thompson, Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations, announced the trade. Brewster, a 5-foot-11, 214-pound rookie out of Division II Ferris State, was signed as a non-drafted free agent by the Browns in May. He had three catches for 21 yards in 2006 preseason action with Cleveland. STORY>>
We needed another Wide Receiver???
I thought we were short at Safety with Underwood out and Manuel still hurting. I guess this doesn't bode well for Boerighter... Martin... Lucas... possibly Gardner???
Speaking of Boerighter and the gobs of molla we tossed at him to play in Green Bay. I'll say this... if triple T cuts his butt instead of 'Sherman'ing' (keeping a useless player you chose simply to make you look better... also known as a BJ but we wont go there!) Boerighter... then he has my respect!
From what we've been told... Boerighter has been a total flop!
(or a total BJ... but we're not going there!)

After standing out in the off-season minicamps with acrobatic catches, often times the favorite target of backup quarterback Aaron Rodgers, Martin dropped a few in the early stages of training camp. Packers Test Fullback Subs
By Tom Silverstein / journalsentinel.com
There's a pretty good chance that fullback William Henderson will be back in time from a knee injury for the season opener against Chicago Sept. 10. But the Packers aren't taking any chances. The same day Henderson underwent arthroscopic surgery on his knee, the Packers used halfbacks Samkon Gado and Noah Herron extensively at fullback. Both have worked occasionally at fullback since training camp began, but Monday they worked there almost exclusively in two-back sets. "William's out right now so we have to pick up the slack," Herron said. "That's really what it is." MORE>>
Looking for a few good backs
By Tyler Dunne / Packer Report
Soon all 32 NFL teams will be trimming their roster with mandatory cuts, in what Homer Simpson refers to as “the easiest part of the job.” As for head coach Mike McCarthy? It will be a daunting task, especially after the Packers’ impressive 38-10 win over Atlanta, and particularly at the running back position. MORE>>
