Holy effin' Crap Batman!!!
Rookies Shmookies!!
Yeah I know it's just the second game of the Pre (as in they don't count) season but check out some of these Packer Rookie stats...
DEFENSE
Tyrone Culver - 5 Tackles and a HUGE Interception in the 1st half
Johnny Jolly - Interception
Hodge and Hawk - Respectable games by both with AJ making some nice deflections.
OFFENSE
Greg 'Javon who' Jennings - geesh... 3 catches / 115 yds / 85 yd TD
Arliss Beach (FA) - 9 carries for 50 yards with a 19 yarder on one carry
OLine (Spitz / Moll / Colledge / Bourke) - Must be playing well... outside of the sacks given up when Aaron was in... the running game has improved.
Note --
Another dissappointing game from Davenport... possibly he's just not suited for this Zone blocking scheme?
Quotes and Unquotes --
"We held our own. We can still keep improving, but we're definitely on our way toward being ready for the regular season. I just think we came out and hit them in the mouth a little more than we did against the Chargers. It was more of a team effort." -- Aaron Kampman
"We drove the ball really well. We had some good drives; that was a good feeling, compared to San Diego, where we couldn't get a lot going. We stll have a ways to go, but we made some strides this week. It seemed like we got a few bounces tonight that we didn't have last year, like on the touchdown to Bubba (Franks). I wish we were a little more consistent in the running game, but it'll come." -- Brett Favre
Coach Mike Mccarthy --
On stepping up the level of play, physically:
"Yeah, I think we're off to a good start. We started a little slow there in the first quarter, but I think we're definitely off to a good start."
On the play of the offensive line: "Yeah, so far, they're holding up OK. The film will always tell you the true story but today, obviously, our point production is up. We've made a couple of big plays. I think we've been excellent on third down for the offense. I'm very pleased so far."
